Little Rock, the Rock Town is loaded with history, culture and beautiful attractions that have given this city its historical, cultural and political fame. There is plenty to see in the Rock Town. But, if you’re short on time, fret not. We have you covered. Follow this itinerary guide to make the most of your time in this mesmerizing city, take in all the quintessential Little Rock sights.

Day 1 Tour in Little Rock

10:00am- A trip to the Arkansas past at Old State House Museum!

Located in the oldest surviving state capitol, the Old State House Museum is well-known as the site of President Bill Clinton’s 1992 and 96 election-night jamboree. The museum features exhibits on diverse historical topics, such as the Arkansas political history, Arkansas women in past, the depression era of Arkansas, folk art, the importance and role of Old Capitol building, and much more.

11:00am- Step back in time at Historic Arkansas Museum!

Next, head off to Historic Arkansas Museum, which is less than a mile away from the Old State House Museum and experience the frontier history of the Natural State. Take a tour of the historic grounds and the pre-civil war neighborhoods and learn about the Arkansas historical events. It has living history characters that portray the life in Arkansas during the early days and how the early residents lived. Take a moment to peruse the art and artifacts of Arkansas in the 4 exhibits galleries within the museum center. Plus, there is a museum store which features contemporary crafts and quilts. Re-live the history!

12:00pm- Stroll along the Little Rock River Market!

Indulge in retail therapy, entertainment and fun at the River Market. It is a perfect spot to hang out and shop. Plus, there is no shortage of entertainment here. Several concerts and festivals are held here throughout the year.  Check out the farmer’s market that is held every Tuesday and Saturday and buy some fresh produce and hand-crafted items.  It also features several boutiques, art galleries, gift shops and service shops. Shop for jewelry, homewares, clothes, books, pottery, gifts, souvenirs, knick-knacks and other items. There is something for everyone here!

1:00pm- Lunch!

By now, you would have build up an appetite. Stop by the Boulevard Bread Company (400 President Clinton Ave.) or Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken (300 President Clinton Ave., Suite D) that serves up American cuisine. Try the Middle Eastern cuisine or Mediterranean food at the Middle Eastern Cuisine (400 President Clinton Ave). For Italian cuisine, make your way over to Gusano's Pizzeria (313 President Clinton Ave).


2:00pm-Get ready to learn something new at Museum of Discovery!

Visit the Museum of Discovery to learn something interesting and new, and have fun too. Learn about history, nature, science, technology and math at the Museum of Discovery through hands-on exhibits and displays. Highlights include the Tech Lab wherein you can create your own robot, “Discovery Hall” where you can learn about math, physics and engineering, know about the parts and functioning of the body at the “Health Hall”, and see the insect zoo and other creatures at the “World of the Forest”.

3:00pm- Tour the William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum!

Just a little further is the William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum which features the replica of Clinton-era Cabinet rooms, Oval office and other items. It holds the artifacts, photographs and gifts from the Clinton’s presidential term. Everything you want to know about Clinton and his time in the White House is available at this spot!

4:00pm-Experience a live performance at Arkansas Repertory Theater!

Head to the Arkansas Repertory Theatre to experience a live show. There’s always something on to suit everyone’s interests and tastes from contemporary comedies to classic plays and much more. Some of the Rep’s popular stories and plays include Hello Dolly!, Much Ado About Nothings, My Fair Lady, and many more.

5:00pm- Go Shopping at Park Plaza Mall!

Shop for name brands at the Park Plaza Mall. It features more than 90 stores and is anchored by XXI and Dillard’s. Some of the big brand names housed in this mall include Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, Talbots, Coach, Gap, Victoria’s Secret, Express, and many more.

7:00pm- Catch Rock Music and Sip Beers at Vino’s! 

Kick back with a beer and listen to some great music at the Vino’s Inc. Rock musicians play here nightly. The atmosphere is lively and fun. Munch on some delicious small plates, calzones and other bar grub, while sipping on freshly brewed beer.

Treat yourself to a taxi/cab and ride on over to have a delectable and satisfying dinner.  Step into the Flying Fish (511 President Clinton Avenue) that serves up fresh, delicious seafood, or try the American cuisine with French flair at the One Eleven (111 W Markham Street). Try the Italian cuisine at Ciao Italian Restaurant (405 W 7th Street), or Chinese cuisine at New Fun Ree (418 W 7th St).  Drop by the Hanaroo Sushi Bar (205 W Capitol Ave) that serves up sushi, Korean and Japanese cuisine with wine and beer. 


10:00pm- Grab your fave drink and immerse yourself in the world of music!

Swing by the Flying Sauce which is best known for its wide variety of bottled beer. It has more than 200 beers to suit every taste. Take a sip of the local brews on tap or the bottle beers. Mondays is the Pint night, a pint of brew costs $2.50 only. Live music is at least on two nights every week.

Day 2 in Little Rock

8:00am- Grab breakfast at The Root Cafe! 

Start your day 2 in Little Rock with eating local food at the Root Cafe.  This cafe serves up creative comfort food that is made using locally grown produces and full of flavors. The menu includes burgers, sandwiches, salads, bratwursts and many vegetarian and exotic dishes that are cooked to perfection.

9:00am- Explore the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion!

Explore the Georgian Colonia Mansion- the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion, which is a symbol of the Arkansas rich past. Eleven Arkansas Governors have called it home, and the grounds and rooms of this historic mansion hold the history of the governors who lived here. It features paintings, heirloom and other memorabilia.

9:30am- Walk through history at Mount Holly Cemetery!

Mount Holly Cemetery is soaked in Arkansas history. It is a resting spot for some of the Arkansas’s most popular and influential figures. It has burial sites of Arkansas senators and governors, mayors, Pulitzer Prize winners, newspaper editors, and many more important figures. Some of the headstones date back to the 1800s. There are several beautiful sculptures and statues.

10:00am- See the art collections at Arkansas Arts Center!

Make your way over to the Arkansas Art Center and see the exhibits that depict some wonderful art pieces. Stroll through the galleries and peruse the masterpieces by some of the best known artists in the world, including Van Gogh, Picasso, Jackson Pollack, Rembrandt, and many others. Drawings, American and European paintings, contemporary crafts and sculpture and photography are just a few of the art media you'll see here. The center also has a children’s theatre, a museum school, a research library, among others.

11:00am- Tour the Arkansas State Capitol!

Next, make you way over to the Arkansas State Capitol and catch a glimpse of the history of Arkansas and its governmental operations. The Capitol houses portraits and items of the past governors, the official seal of Arkansas, murals, a cupola in 24 karat gold, Old Supreme Court Chamber, Senate chambers, among other attractions and features of interest. Also, stroll along the gardens of the Capitol and see the memorial figures and statues on display.

12:00pm-See the Arkansas Military Heritage at MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History!

Visit the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History that chronicles the military history of the state from the early days to the present day through exhibits, weapons, uniforms, photos, documents and other artifacts.

Drop by the Brave New Restaurant  (2300 Cottondale Ln Ste 105) for American, seafood and steak. For barbecue, head to the Capitol Smokehouse & Grill (915 West Capitol Ave).  For Italian cuisine, drop by Bruno's Little Italy (310 Main Street), or step into South on Main (1304 Main St) for brunch.

2:00pm- Explore the Arkansas’s African American heritage at Mosaic Templars Cultural Center!

Next, head off to the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center that features the African American history, culture and life from the 1870s to the present day. The exhibits and displays in the center tell about the contribution made by the African Americans in the Arkansas art, culture, politics and business. It throws lights on the impact and role of African Americans in Arkansas.

3:00pm-Meet the animals at Little Rock Zoo!

See the native wildlife at the Little Rock Zoo. The zoo is home to more than 700 animals living in their natural habitats. Flamingos, giraffes, bears, rhinos, tigers, elephants, bobcats, gorillas, lemurs, jaguars and alligators are just a few of the animals you’ll spot here. Do see the Lorikeet Landing exhibit and feed the birds. Take a scenic train ride that will whisk you through the zoo. Before leaving, do drop by the Safari Trader Gift Shop and buy some zoovenirs.

4:00pm- Stroll along the Riverfront Park!

Walk, bike, relax, take in the surrounding beauty and know the Rock Town’s history at the Riverfront Park. The park is home to many gardens, sculptures, trails, playgrounds, Arkansas historical information, and much more. Indulge in some outdoor activities here. Highlights of the park include La Petit Roche Plaza, the Little Rock Civil War Marker, the Clinton Presidential Park Bridge and the History Pavilion.

Head off to the West End Smokehouse & Tavern which has everything to make your night a fun one. With Billiards table, darts, shuffle board, arcade games, live music shows, TVs and BBQ, this is a perfect nightspot to hang out and enjoy.
